Amanda Rahimi, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Hello, and welcome! My name is Amanda Rahimi and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience providing therapy services to adolescents and adults. After working in university counseling centers for many years, I opened my private practice in 2016. I love what I do and feel privileged to be a part of my clients’ journeys and lives. I believe everyone is capable of change and becoming the best version of themselves. I also believe we have the best chance of becoming our best selves when we have excellent support, which includes a strong, caring, and collaborative relationship with a therapist.
Genuineness, authenticity, openness, trust, and patience are incorporated into my relationships with clients. I deeply value the process of building meaningful connections with each person I work with, as this is often helps us better understand other relationships and concerns in your life.
I have expertise in working with a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, relationship stress, and issues related to postpartum and maternal health. My specialty areas include binge eating, emotional eating, and grief/loss. Clients I work with often endorse experiencing:
In tricky or intense emotional moments, I turn to food as a comfort or distraction.
I do not feel like I have control in my life.
I have lost someone or something I really care about, and now I’m left feeling lost and alone.
Most days feel overwhelming and like I’m on a roller coaster, and I don’t know how to slow it down.
Whether you endorse these experiences or generally feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or sad, feel free to reach out and we can determine if we might be a good fit to work together. Together, we can start the process of helping you feel better and more like yourself.
