What To Expect

The first step in working together is for you to contact me by email or phone. I do my best to respond within 24-48 hours. This preliminary contact allows us to discuss your availability, insurance coverage, costs of therapy, and scheduling. We might choose to schedule a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. This provides an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have, help me better understand your goals of therapy and expectations of your therapist, and together, we can determine whether or not we would like to proceed in scheduling an Initial Consultation Appointment.

Paperwork
After we schedule an Initial Consultation Appointment, you will be asked to review and complete initial paperwork. A link will be emailed to you through my confidential portal. Forms include a consent to services, demographic information, background and history questions, initial mental health screenings, insurance form, and credit card information. All forms can be completed and submitted electronically prior to our first session.

Initial Consultation Appointments
Next, we will meet for a series of 1-3 initial consultation appointments. These sessions help me better understand your reasons for seeking therapy, therapeutic goals, family, social relationships, as well as a variety of other areas related to your development and current well-being. If you worry that you have to tell your whole life story or history in a couple of appointment, don’t worry, you don’t. I see these appointments as a chance for you to get a sense of my style as a therapist, and for me to begin to get to know you. From there, we will decide if we are a good fit to work together in therapy.

Psychotherapy
I provide both short- and long-term therapy, depending on your needs and goals. I tailor my approach to best meet the needs of each particular client, borrowing from Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, mindfulness, and other relational approaches.
